Cord Blood Standards FAQ

Cord Blood Bank personnel requirements may be found in sections B1, C2, and D2 of the Cord Blood Bank Standards.

Refer to the "At completion of processing prior to cryopreservation" column of the Cord Blood Unit Labeling Table (Appendix I) in the current edition of NetCord-FACT Standards for a list of what labeling elements are required.

The objective of the FACT Standards are to promote the collection, banking, and release of quality units.
FACT Cord Blood Standards are applicable to public and private banking of cord blood units. Banks currently accredited by FACT are public, private, or combined public/private. For recommendations on the allocation of cord blood units, refer to the experts in the field: American Society of Blood and Marrow Transplantation (ASBMT), American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP).
